The Basta Telegram channel has commented on the appointment of a native of North Ossetia, Yury Karayeu, as Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus:

«So the new Interior Minister has been delivered.

Yury Karayeu was born in Russia. In Belarus, he began his career in police in Homel and Babruisk. He commanded a special forces brigade of the internal troops and Minsk riot police. Repeatedly "distinguished himself" in dispersing opposition rallies."
