Statement of the Council of the REP Independent Trade Union.

The Council of the Belarusian Trade Union of Radio-Electronic Industry Workers has made a statement, which was published by the praca-by.info website:

- The main task of trade unions is to protect the rights and interests of their members.

Violations of labor and socio-economic rights of workers were a frequent phenomenon in Belarus before, but the political and socio-economic crisis of 2020 has sharply exacerbated the situation in the country.

The state has clearly taken the path of confrontation with the people.

The pro-government so-called "official" trade unions discredited themselves by actually supporting state repression of workers.

The persecution of workers for leaving such "unions" and forcing them to join them only exposes their anti-people character.

Only an independent trade union, established by the workers themselves on a voluntary basis, can be a true defender of the rights of the working man.

By joining independent trade unions the citizens of Belarus not only defend themselves, they bring the victory of law, justice, and democracy closer.

Independent Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of Radio-Electronic Industry (REP trade union) continues to unite the efforts of all non-indifferent people, ready to defend their rights and struggle for the rebirth of a free, democratic Belarus.
