The politician described how he sees the future relations between Belarus and Russia.
In an interview with the RBC publication, possible presidential candidate Viktar Babaryka described how he sees the future relations between Belarus and Russia:
- Any relations between the countries should be based on the three most important principles. All the others are allowed to say: "My country is the 1st" (my country is the number one), but when Belarus says so, it is answered: "Well, how is it, it must be with someone else. But Belarus has the right to such a position. In addition, all unions and relations should be based on the principle of win-win (double win) or, as some jokers say, lose-lose (double lose). And the third, it is fundamental, is not to touch upon the issue of losing sovereignty and not to form dependencies. I don't think alliances when one country depends on another are right and good.
It seems to me that it is advantageous for any country to have calm, balanced partners who can discuss economic topics from the point of view of mutual benefit, not just "you give us and we give you nothing" or "some day afterwards". Our current leader said: after 26 years we have no friends left, only enemies are around. It seems to me that such a partner, who makes the whole world his enemy, is hardly interesting to anyone.
