I and such TV have different paths to follow. Artsemis Akhpash, presenter of the state ONT TV channel, addressed his colleagues, the Basta telegram channel reports.
"Colleagues, journalists, TV presenters and announcers, - he writes. - I want to appeal to you!
Whenever you tell a blatant lie about what is happening now from TV screens, how do you feel when you come home?
Do you really forget everything in your "service apartment"? Are you happy with everything?
For me, you are no better or even worse than those representatives of the "law enforcement agencies" who "pack" people in paddy wagons for nothing. And the people who are detained are not extremists, not terrorists, not armed bandits - they are the same Belarusians who just went out into the street to show by their presence their attitude to the events. We have no other way to express our feelings and opinions. Do you really agree to even breathe on orders?
I am glad that in all the 10 years of working on TV I have never been a propaganda tool. I was repeatedly offered to be a "news" presenter, but I refused every time.
I've always been closer to the genre of entertainment
And I am honest with my audience!
In my sanity, I am aware that after this appeal I will not be allowed access to TV.
But I and such TV have different paths to follow.
