The country's authorities have accused Lukashenka of vote rigging.

Estonia does not recognize the results of the August 9 presidential elections in Belarus. According to the official position of the ER Cabinet, these elections were neither free nor fair.

This is stated in the official statement of the Estonian government published on Tuesday, August 18, writes err.ee.

Estonia believes that Lukashenka lost his mandate due to numerous falsifications of the election results.

The Estonian government supports the will of the Belarusian people for changes in the country, and considers it important to hold new, free and democratic elections.

The government supports the introduction of targeted sanctions against those responsible for the violence and electoral fraud. At the same time, the government believes that the sanctions should not harm ordinary citizens of Belarus.
