Slutsk market doesn't look as "crowded" as it used to be. People notice that the counters are empty on some days. In addition, the media write about the new rules of trade.

Kurjer found out what has changed for those physical persons (common people) who sell their agricultural products at Slutsk market. And what happens to the businessmen who are obliged to install cash registers.

What happens to individuals

Hanna Sheleh, head of the Slutsk market, said that on November 15 a law came into force, according to which only legal persons and individual entrepreneurs belong to the subjects of seed-growing of agricultural plants. It means that individuals (common people) are no longer allowed to sell seeds of agricultural plants. It is necessary to be registered as an individual entrepreneur.

The word "seeds" means both plant seeds and seedlings, fruits, parts of complex fruits, copulas, bulbs, tubers, meristem materials and other generative and vegetative parts of agricultural plants intended for reproduction.

As to the changes, which came into force on December 12, according to which the sellers must be in possession of certain documents. The manager of the market explained that the documents in question were also required before. In particular, people who sell their fruits and vegetables had to have a certificate that it was grown on their land. The villagers took such a certificate from the village councils, and the townspeople - from the department of architecture and construction of Slutsk district executive committee.

"What has changed is that now the market administrations, if they are not given the documents, which are required by the 686th decree, can terminate the lease of the market places," explained Hanna.

The situation with individual entrepreneurs and legal entities

Hanna said that recently an increasing number of entrepreneurs terminate contracts with the market for the reason that since February, 1 supervisory authorities will monitor whether they have cash register equipment.

In addition, since May 18, 2022, not only sellers of non-food products, but also "food producers", as well as those legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who sell fruits and vegetables will have to use cash registers with the means of control by tax authorities.
