17-Year-Old Guy Commits Suicide In Minsk Due To Pressure By Law-Enforcers

A 17-year-old guy committed suicide in Minsk because of political persecution, reports HRC Viasna.

On the evening of May 25 in Minsk, 17-year-old Dzmitry Stakhouski, a defendant in the criminal case for participating in the “mass riots” on August 9-11, 2020 (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code), committed suicide by jumping from a 16-storey building.

The guy had previously posted a death note on VKontakte social network (the surname is changed there), in which he explained his act by criminal prosecution due to participation in rallies. “The reason for this was the Investigatory Committee. If they did not continue to pressure me morally, I think I would not have decided to commit such a terrible act as suicide,” he said.

It is known that he was an orphan and lived in a hostel.
