Media: Leadership Of Sosedi Trade Network Detained In Belarus

Almost all top managers and at least one of the main beneficiaries have been detained.

Nasha Niva reports on the detention of the leadership of the Sosedi trading network in Belarus.

“Almost all top managers have been detained, as well as at least one of the main beneficiaries, Vadzim Ivanesau,” the publication reports. Probably, the process was led by the State Control Committee.

The media calls violation of the pricing procedure as one of the possible reasons for the detention.

The Sosedi retail chain, which has 180 stores, belongs to the Libretik company, which has been operating in Belarus for more than 20 years. Last year, the company employed over 5,000 people in total.

In the summer, the retailer experienced a large-scale data leak: the data of 634,000 people registered on the website of the sosedi.by network turned out to be on the Internet. The retailer acknowledged the leak of the data of its customers-holders of Kupilka cards only on July 19. Then the authorities began a check, but its results were not announced.
