The enemy Kalibr was destroyed.

For the first time, a Russian cruise missile was shot down in Ukraine using the ePPO (єППО) app. Citizens reported the missile through the app, and Ukrainian defenders destroyed the enemy Kalibr.

This was announced on Facebook by one of the developers Hennady Suldin.

“On October 22, 22 in the morning in the south of Ukraine, the first combat use of the ePPO application on a Russian cruise missile took place. The Kalibr flew at a very low altitude, due to the peculiarities of the terrain, it was not observed by location. Our anti-aircraft gunners received target designation in a few seconds, had enough time and without unnecessary problems, as if during training on a simulator, shot down a Kalibr from the Igla MANPADS.

The system worked exactly as we dreamed in May at the beginning of the development of the application. By the way, ePPO was planned precisely as a means of tracking low-flying subsonic cruise missiles, primarily Kalibr. The Shahed-type threat appeared much later,” he said.

Suldin noted that data from the countryside about missiles and Shaheds of the Russian invaders are of great value for air defense. They most often go through the lowlands in sparsely populated areas.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainians can report missiles or drones of the Russian Federation using the ePPO app.
