Druzhba Oil Pipeline Shut Down After Russian Strike On Ukraine

  • 16.11.2022, 13:22

Oil pumping through the southern branch of the pipeline has stopped.

Crude oil transportation through the Druzhba pipeline has been temporarily halted as a result of missile strikes on Ukraine. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that this pipeline was used to supply oil to Hungary.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Szijjártó's video message on Facebook.

According to available information, the Druzhba pipeline was not damaged, but the infrastructure element operating the pipeline - the transformer substation - was damaged, he said.

"Transportation through the pipeline will probably be resumed in the near future, Hungary's power supply is not threatened," Szijjártó added.
