Kalinouski Regiment Fighters Honour Memory Of Belarusian Hero Of Ukraine Mikhail Zhyzneuski

The fight for the freedom of Belarus and Ukraine continues.

On Monday, Ukraine celebrates Day of Dignity and Freedom, the anniversary of the revolutionary events of 2014. One of the first protesters to die was Belarusian Mikhail Zhyzneuski. A group of Kalinouski Regiment fighters honoured his memory. They visited the site of his death - Grushevsky Street in the Ukrainian capital.

"In those days our hero gave his life," Kalinouski Regiment fighters wrote. "...The Belarusians are still fighting on the side of Ukraine because we share the desire and right of the people in Ukraine and Belarus to live without the dictatorship and oppression of their imperial neighbour."

Mikhail Zhyzneuski was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2017. He is buried in his homeland, in the village of Znamia Truda near Homel.
