Russian Propagandists Claim Occupier Troops Got In 'Fire Pocket' Near Pavlivka

Heavy losses and a revolt of marines.

The Russian military complain of heavy losses during the fighting for the village of Pavlivka in the Ugledar direction, the dn.ua website has reported.

The piece cites the publications of a number of Russian propagandists and bloggers who report on the difficult situation near Pavlivka.

For example, Russian military correspondent Aleksandr Sladkov said that the marines of the Vladivostok-based 155th separate brigade had appealed for help to Primorye Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.

They sent him a letter in which they asked him to send an independent commission to Ugledar to assess the situation at the front. Sladkov also complains that although the situation in Pavlivka has been reported to the "authorities" for several days now, "the blood is still being spilt".

Aleksandr Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok battalion of the "people's militia of the DPR," commented on Sladkov's post and reminded that he had said that an offensive on Pavlivka was too early. According to him, the Russian troops there "found themselves in a fire pocket". "The hope for a better outcome has lost out in me to a sober understanding of the prospects, after all," Khodakovsky wrote.

The WarGonzo telegram channel of war correspondent Semyon Pegov reported that "things are objectively bad in Pavlivka". According to him, the first reports of "DPR" formations entering Pavlivka have been replaced by "extremely depressing news about the situation of the 155th Brigade."

Earlier this week, pro-Russian telegram channels started reporting on fighting in the Mar'inka-Ugledar direction (southwest of Donetsk), in particular on the seizure of Pavlivka by "DPR" formations and Russian marines. Some military correspondents wrote that the main task of the Russian troops in this direction was to establish control over the Ugledar-Mar'inka highway.
