Occupiers Killed Ukrainian Scientist Near Kyiv

The 65-year-old physicist could not get out of Vorzel.

Russian occupants killed Vasyly Kladko, an experimental physicist and deputy director of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics named after V. Lashkarev of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in Vorzel in Kyiv Region on March 13, reports nv.ua.

According to the statement of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the 65-year-old scientist arrived in Vorzel to evacuate his family from there.

It is noted that his wife and grandchildren managed to leave, while Kladko stayed behind and was unable to get out after the Russian occupants entered the settlement.

Kladko was awarded the title of professor in 2007 and in 2015 he was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

On March 13, Russian occupiers murdered Oleksandr Kononov, a well-known Ukrainian volunteer with a disability, in the village of Borivske near Severodonetsk. He was shot dead at home right in his wheelchair.

Earlier, Russian occupiers killed a military chaplain, abbot of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Platon (Morgunov), in occupied Volnovakha, Donetsk Region.
