The Ukrainian military destroyed a convoy of Russian troops that left Mykolayiv in the direction of Bashtanka during the day.

This was reported by the head of the Kirovograd regional state administration Maria Chernaya, reports Censor.NET.

"All day long we have been following the occupants' convoy moving from the direction of Mykolayiv. Now I can share the good news.

The Russian military column came to Bashtanka, where it met fierce resistance. Here it was bombed down by our aviation, and the local territorial defence forces were chasing it across the fields.

The invaders fled in the direction of Noviy Bug. But this did not help them. Our AFU shelled and burned the rest of the column - several dozen armoured vehicles.

As of now, the offensive has been stopped. But we must stay alert. The enemy is very insidious," the message reads.

Head of Mykolayiv regional state administration Vitaliy Kim said: "There is already a video showing that 800 pieces of equipment were being fired upon, we will see how many in reality. But they have lost a lot of equipment. As for our losses - one Mi-8 helicopter, one plane was shot down, the pilots are alive, they were evacuated.

According to him, the residents of Bashtanka seized two APCs from the Russian military for the territorial defence.
