Ukrainian HIMARS Strikes Eliminate Russian Elite Division Leadership

The blow was inflicted in the area of Shakhtarsk.

The Ukrainian troops, as a result of strikes from the HIMARS MLRS, probably killed or wounded four Russian 106th Airborne Division deputy commanders.

This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts refer to information about the death of the military, published in the Russian media.

Russian news outlets reported the deaths of 106th Division’s deputy commanders Colonel Sergey Kuzminov, Colonel Andrey Vasiliev, and Colonel Maxim Kudrin.

“This seemingly confirms Ukrainian claims that HIMARS strikes on Shaktarsk on July 9 killed or wounded a significant portion of the 106th's leadership,” the analysts write.

Important to note, on July 12, almost all the deputy commanders of one of the Russian divisions were killed near Shakhtarsk.

On the same day, Head of the rocket and artillery armament service of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces Valentin Danilov was liquidated.
