Russians Kidnapped And Took Kyiv Region Residents To Belarus

During the occupation of the Kyiv region, the Russian military kidnapped and forcibly took away civilians to Belarus, the head of the Main Administration of the National Police of Ukraine, Andriy Nebytov, said during the news telethon, reports unian.net.

- During the investigation of criminal proceedings related to war crimes, we found that a lot of people were forcibly taken to the territory of Belarus, creating very difficult living conditions there. A lot of people are on the territory of Belarus and the Russian Federation. We have witnesses and interrogations. We hope these people will contact us if possible," said Nebytov.

He says people who disappeared during the hostilities are wanted. They may be in captivity.

- To date, we have not found the bodies of about 300 people who disappeared during the hostilities in the Kyiv region. Another 216 bodies remain unidentified, but an appropriate procedure of DNA sampling has been carried out. I hope the cooperation with relatives will help us to identify most of the persons, said the head of the main department of the National Police.

He notes that they still find the bodies of tortured civilians in the region.

- To date, unfortunately, we already have 1348 bodies of civilians killed as a result of the Russian aggression. Unfortunately, these are not isolated cases when we find graves, including mass graves. All the bodies have signs of torture," Nebytov said.
