British Foreign Secretary About Mobilisation In Russia: We Will Help Ukraine

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's announcement of a partial mobilisation in Russia against the backdrop of the war against Ukraine is a worrying escalation.

UK Foreign Secretary Gillian Keegan said this, reports Sky News.

She accused Putin of rewriting history.

"Some of the statements are quite disturbing and obviously we should seek to be calm," the minister said, urging Russian citizens to "look beyond their own media".

The threats should be taken seriously, she said, as Ukraine begins to move forward, recapturing lands previously seized by Russia.

"Let's make it clear - there are Putin's lies. This is Russia's illegal war in Ukraine. And, of course, we will continue to support Ukraine together with all our NATO allies. We are there, we are on your side - we will help in any way we can," she stressed.

The minister also reacted to Putin's nuclear blackmail.

"This is something that we have to take very seriously because, you know, we are not in control of the situation. I'm not sure he's in control of the situation either. Really, I mean, it's an obvious escalation," Keegan said.
