Belarusians participated in the defense of Bakhmut.

Several fighters of the Kalinouski regiment, who participated in two major operations on the outskirts of Bakhmut, were wounded.

Commander of the evacuation group of the “Volat” battalion with the call sign “North” commented on the situation during a press-conference:

— On December 31 and January 3-4, we had two major operations on the outskirts of Bakhmut. On the 31st, we had six wounded, two people with shrapnel wounds, four with shell-shocks of varying severity, including me. At the moment, all soldiers are undergoing treatment. Soldiers with bullet wounds are in the hospital. Two of them were wounded in the chest, one was wounded in the neck. Dzianis Urbanovich, callsign “Vaўkalak”, was wounded in the chest. The wound is quite severe, but at the same time, he is already in a stable condition and is recovering.

The Kalinouski regiment also confirmed that wounded Belarusian soldiers in Ukraine receive free medical care and payments from the state along with their Ukrainian colleagues. Also recently, the regiment received a car, winter uniforms, generators and a drone as a gift from the mayor of Zhytomyr.
