Poland's PM Says Warsaw Could Hand Leopard Over To AFU Without Germany's Consent

The security of all of Europe depends on the supply of heavy weapons.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw could transfer a company of German Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine without the consent of Berlin. The head of the Polish government hinted that such a step would be taken if Germany delayed the transfer.
The Prime Minister of Poland said this in a media commentary, returning from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Polskie Radio reports.
Mateusz Morawiecki stated that the transfer of tanks is now of critical importance:
— We offered a company of tanks — 14 machines, but at the same time, we need a guarantee that others will also do something. And among these others, who have so far been less active, to put it mildly, is Germany. Therefore, we will continue to fight and put pressure on the chancellor's office so that they respond to our proposal as quickly as possible.
We have agreed with Ukrainian friends and partners from Western Europe that we will transfer these tanks together. The granting of consent is of secondary importance here. We will either quickly get this consent, or we will begin to act ourselves. The most important thing here is that Germany — and not only them, but also Denmark, Finland, France, and above all Germany — offer their modern tanks as quickly as possible. Because the ability to protect the freedom of Ukraine depends on it, therefore the security of the whole of Europe depends on it.
As the website Charter97.org wrote before, Germany is ready to give tanks to Ukraine if the United States does the same.
