Lukashenka’s Ex-Guard Caught On Drunk Driving

They also caught the drunken jumper Nedasekau.
Drunk driving is one of the most disgusting things a driver can do. After all, they don’t care not only about their own life and health, but also about other people who may get in their way in conditions of poor control of the traffic situation.
But those who are willing to drive drunk, unfortunately, remain — and in the regime-supporting Belarusian sport there have been at least two such stories in recent years. True, they were reported in fragments. Now Tribuna has documents that allow us to talk about the situations in more detail.
One of them included the ABFF deputy chairman, pro-regime signatory Mikhail Botnikau. Lukashenka’s ex-security guard, who at one time interfered with the work of the Belarusian football channel “ChestnOK”, gave reason to talk about the degree of his sobriety back in October 2020, when he was peculiarly rooting for the Belarusian national team in the stands of Dynama Minsk.
Well, at the end of April 2021, Tribuna received information that Botnikau had been deprived of his driver’s license for a long time for drunk driving. Then the ABFF refused to comment on this.
And today we know the details of the incident. Late in the evening of April 6, a regular working Tuesday, a traffic police officer named Lukashenka stopped Botnikau’s Volkswagen Passat in the Zaparozhskaya Square area of Minsk — a couple of blocks from the “diamond” of the library. According to the report, for some reason the heavily inebriated driver introduced himself as the deputy chairman of the Belarusian Mini-Football Association, although he himself, in addition to a high position in the ABFF, was already in charge for another type of football — beach football.
Botnikau was sent for examination right from behind the wheel. 25 minutes later, the devices showed a result of 1.07 ppm — as various sites suggest, for such a state you need to drink about 200 grams of vodka. This greatly impairs coordination and reaction speed, but usually causes a feeling of euphoria.
On April 29, Botnikau was punished at the Lukashenka police department in the Pershamaiski district of Minsk. They were accused under Article 18.15 of the regime Code of Administrative Offences, namely its second part, since the indicators exceeded 0.8 ppm. The punishment is spelled out unambiguously — a fine of 200 base fees and deprivation of a driver’s licence for 5 years. This is exactly what the ABFF deputy chairman received — at that time the amount of money was $2,262.
Another case involves pro-regime high jumper Maksim Nedasekau. In April 2021, the Telegram channel “Nick and Mike” published a letter from January of the same year, in which Lukashenka’s “Ministry of Internal Affairs” complained to Lukashenka’s “Ministry of Sports” that “public sanctions” were not being applied to Nedasekau for his recent drunk driving.
What happened then? Apparently, Nedasekau had already begun to celebrate the New Year — his Honda Civic was stopped 23 hours before it began, at 1:05 am on December 31, 2020. They caught Nedasekau not far from the Minsk Arena — the jumper was approaching it along the Peramozhtsau Avenue from the Mink Belt Road. Nedasekau introduced himself as an athlete-instructor with a job at the Ministry of Sports. But the degree of intoxication is not indicated in the document.
They dealt with Nedasekau on January 14, 2021, for some reason, at the Lukashenka police department in the Minsk region. They presented the jumper with Article 18.16 of the old version of Lukashenka’s Code of Administrative Offenses — according to it, it didn’t matter how much a person drank, the punishment proposed for everyone was the following: a fine of 50 to 100 base fees plus deprivation of a driver’s licence for three years. Actually, Nedasekau got the deprivation of a driver’s licence for this very term, and a fine of 60 base fees, which then equaled 677 dollars.
At the same time, the jumper has since shown many times on social media how he drives a car, and in the autumn of 2021 he spent a lot of money on a new car. And there are two options — either Nedasekau drives without a license, and no one catches him, or he has received an “indulgence” from Lukashenka, who, by his decision, can cancel any other regime.
