Dnipro River Left Bank Positions Captured: New Ukrainian Offensive Officially Confirmed

70% of the distance to liberate Crimea has been covered.

Ukrainian forces advance on the left bank of the Kherson region. The Ukrainian troops managed to take a bridgehead on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnieper.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, confirmed for the first time the start of a new offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area. He delivered a speech at the American non-governmental analytical center of the Hudson Institute called “The Decisive Moment for Ukraine”.

The Presidential Press Service published the text of Yermak’s speech officially.

“We are strongly committed to restoring Ukraine's sovereignty throughout its internationally recognised territory. Despite everything, the Armed Forces of Ukraine seized a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River,” he said.

He also noted that Ukrainian soldiers are “step by step demilitarizing” Crimea captured by the enemy.

“We covered 70% of the distance. Our counter-offensive continues. We know how to win,” Yermak assured.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian state aims to develop its national defence industry and expand weapons production. However, right now Ukraine needs the help of partners due to the Russian full-scale war.

In particular, they need strong air defence, Ermak added.

“I’ll tell you the truth: this winter will be hard for us too. They will again attempt terror against our citizens by attacking energy networks and infrastructure. But strengthening our air defence will be the key to recovery. To recover, Ukraine needs a reliable umbrella,” said the head of the Presidential Office.
