MEP Urges Belarusian Regime To Release Statkevich Immediately

Nothing is still known about the leader of the Belarusian opposition.
MEP from Slovakia Miriam Lexmann calls on the Lukashenka regime to immediately provide information about the whereabouts and well-being of the leader of the Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich:
“For over 300 days there has been no information about the whereabouts and well-being of Mikalai Statkevich.
This week I will lead negotiations for an urgent resolution on behalf of the European People's Party Group demanding the release of Statkevich and all political prisoners in Belarus.”
Earlier, Natallia Radzina, the Editor-in-chief of Charter97.org, demanded that the Belarusian authorities refute information received from several sources about the possible death in prison of the leader of the Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich.
“Show Mikalai Statkevich, if he is alive, to his closest and dearest person – Maryna Adamovich. Allow them a date or at least a video call!
Otherwise, your silence will mean that the sources are right and the death of another political prisoner is on the hands of Lukashenka and his punishers,” said Natallia Radzina.
