Americans Vote For Helping Ukraine But Following Republican’s Plan

Survey.

The tactics of Republicans, who are delaying aid to Ukraine by demanding additional funding to strengthen the southern border of the United States, are supported by the majority of the country's citizens. This is evidenced by the latest Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll.

The people were addressed in the framework of the monthly polls with the question: “Do you think that Republicans should hold up the aid [to Ukraine and Israel - Ed.] until they get added border security funding, or pass the aid without border security funding?”

65% of respondents chose the first option, and even among Democrats it is in first place (51% versus 49%), and among Republicans it generally has full support (83% versus 17%).

At the same time, 65% of the poll participants believe that the United States should support Ukraine in the war against Russia, although only 49% of respondents support the current multi-billion funding package.

Votes for the aid to Israel have almost the same figures: 65% believe that the U.S. should support it in the war against Hamas, while the package currently being considered is supported by 54%.

The survey also found that the number of Americans who have a favourable attitude towards Ukraine is twice as large as the number of those who are antipathetic – 55% versus 25%. The difference is 30 points about the same as that of NATO and Israel, and much better than, for example, the US Supreme Court or most leading media and social media such as CNN, Fox News, Facebook or X.
