Weather forecaster Dzmitry Rabau gave an insight into the weather in Belarus for the last week of December and New Year 2024. As he said, you shouldn’t count on classic winter weather with frosts and snowfalls — the Atlantic Ocean will dictate the terms. And it will continue to supply warm and humid air masses. The average temperature for the week from December 25 to 31 is expected to be 3-5 degrees above normal.

The first two days of the week will be the warmest. So, on the night of Monday, December 25, it is expected from +5 in the southwest to -5 in the east, on Tuesday from -1 to +5 degrees. On Monday afternoon in the northeast of the country it will be from -2, and in the southwestern regions — up to +8. On Tuesday it is even warmer — 0 degrees in Vitsebsk and +9 in Brest.

On Wednesday, December 27, the initiative in shaping the weather for the day will pass to a moist air mass from the Baltic Sea. Accordingly, it will get a little colder — from -1 in the north to +6 in the south at night, from +1 to +4 during the day.

On Thursday, December 28, active atmospheric fronts will return from western Europe. They will not have time to reach the eastern regions, it will be -3 there at night and during the day, and in the southern regions it will be up to +4 on Thursday. The same weather will continue on Friday, December 2.

“In the last weekend of December, the influence of an area of high atmospheric pressure is expected,” Dzmitry Rabau informed. This means there will be no precipitation.

As for the temperature on December 30 and 31, at night it is expected to be -3 in the northeast, and up to +3 in the southwest.

“In the middle of the day on Saturday from +1 to +6 degrees, on Sunday from +1 to +4,” the forecaster said.
