Tax officials are sounding the alarm.

Tax officials are actively asking Belarusians to pay property taxes for 2022. This refers to transport fees for real estate and land, as well as rent for the use of land plots that are state-owned. The deadline for paying these taxes came on November 15, but not all Belarusians paid them. Now tax officials are reminding us about these fees and threatening problems.

“In Minsk, about 1.5 million vehicles and real estate are subject to property taxes, the payment deadline for which is November 15. However, not all Minsk residents fulfilled their tax obligations on time,” notes the Ministry of Taxes Inspectorate for Minsk.

“Taking into account that from January 1, 2024, the procedure for paying property taxes will change, we recommend that you fulfill your tax obligations by the end of the current year, and start the New Year without debt,” says the Ministry of Taxes Inspectorate for Minsk.

Regional tax authorities also issued similar reminders; they remind the citizens of the payment of fees for 2022, which must be paid this year.

“In total, the tax authorities of the Vitsebsk region presented 38.5 million rubles of such payments to individuals to cover, while more than 600 thousand payers are registered,” noted the inspection of the Ministry of Taxes of the Vitsebsk region in early December. “However, despite the fact that the payment deadline for property payments expired on November 15, the budget has not yet received about 2.9 million rubles, which is 7.5% of the calculated amount. About 50 thousand payers incurred such debt.”
