Bloomberg: US Is Giving Ukraine Long-Range ‘Smart Bombs’

The United States will give Ukraine GPS-guided long-range bombs capable of hitting targets at a distance of 72 km. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources associated with the production of weapons.

The publication notes that the Pentagon has not officially announced that it is sending Ukraine a modified version of the Boeing Joint Direct Attack Munition. It was only announced that "accurate aviation munitions" were included in the aid in the amount of $1.85 billion.

At the same time, Bloomberg sources confirmed to the agency that we are talking about long-range JDAM bombs, known as JDAM-ER. They can hit targets 72 km (45 miles) away. Boeing is involved in the development of these munitions.

On January 20, Boeing received a $40.5 million JDAM order from the US Air Force.
