The Ukrainian army may help the Moldovan army in disarming the grouping of Russian troops in Transnistria. There is no threat of capturing the airport in Chisinau.

If there is an attempt to seize it, Russian aviation will be destroyed. This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with obozrevatel.com by military expert Oleg Zhdanov.

"I think it is unrealistic. It makes no sense to seize the airport in Chisinau, because the territory of Transnistria is in an enclave. They will not go through our airspace, we will shoot them down, and they will not go through Romania either - Romania will shoot them down too. And Moldova itself has no access to the open international space", he explained.

The expert added that the contingent of the Russian terrorist country in Transnistria is not enough to solve such a problem. "There it is necessary to seize with simultaneous landing of troops, then it will be a success," he noted.

At the same time, Zhdanov admitted that the actualization of the theme of threat from Transnistria can be used by the Moldovan government for its own purposes. In particular, in order to get support for the demilitarization of this region.

"There may also be a political game here. The Moldovan prime minister himself is now trying to inflame the situation around Transnistria in order to get international support and approval for a forceful solution to the demilitarisation of this territory. If they disarm the Russians, that's it. Then it is possible to start the political process of returning these territories under the control of the Moldovan government," the expert stressed.

"I will even assume that Ukraine can provide forceful support in resolving the issue of the demilitarization of Transnistria. At Moldova's request," he predicted.
