Polish MFA Revealed Details Of Spy Network Elimination: Belarusians Are Involved

The Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Mariusz Kaminski made an official statement on the elimination of the Russian spy network. Yesterday was revealed before publicity.

The Internal Security Service (ISA) detained 9 people suspected of collaborating with Russian special services. According to the ISA, the suspects were conducting intelligence operations and preparing for sabotage.

All detainees are called "foreigners from the eastern border." Six of them were taken into custody by the court. They are charged with spying for Russia and participating in an organized criminal group. Three detainees are being prosecuted.

Mr Kaminski noted that the facts point to the group's attempts to control rail routes. Its tasks included detecting, monitoring and documenting arms shipments for Ukraine. The suspects were also preparing to commit acts of sabotage that were supposed to stop these deliveries.

The ISA officers seized cameras, electronic equipment and GPS tracking devices.

Also, the case file indicates that the group had the task of conducting propaganda in order to destabilize Polish-Ukrainian relations and to create a hostile attitude towards NATO countries.

The ISA has proof that members of the group were remunerated.

“The investigation is growing dynamically. The services under my leadership, headed by the Internal Security Service, are working closely and intensively on the case. We will promptly inform the public about their results,” Mr Kaminski said.
