Significant events have begun in Russia.
Strange events have been taking place in Russia lately - the "march" in the Bryansk region, drone flights, and "claps" are being heard with increasing frequency. All of this could lead to a war moving into the territory of the aggressor country.
However, not all of these incidents pose danger to Russia, but the conflict within Russia's elite, which is growing. German political analyst and sociologist Igor Eidman told Channel 24. He says there is a conflict in the law enforcement agencies as well.
He notes that the private army of terrorist Yevgeny Prigozhin and the official state army subordinate to the Ministry of Defense are constantly in conflict.
"As Russia loses the war, they will blame each other and share resources; this conflict will escalate," the political scientist said.
He believes that if today Prigozhin simply quarrels over the shells that the Defense Ministry does not provide him, tomorrow, they will beat off these shells with the military forces. And the day after tomorrow, there will be a new Russian turmoil.
"When the front collapses, then the private armies of Prigozhin and Kadyrov, the Rosgvardiya, the Ministry of Defense will begin to fight not with Ukrainians but with each other. And this is the most dangerous prospect for the Russian authorities," Eidman assures.
He says that Prigozhin is now trying to draw public attention to his "showdown" with the Defense Ministry. In the Russian crime world, a mob boss cannot appeal to a hustler. They have always appealed their conflicts to the "code-bound thief" - Putin.
"And now this tradition has been abolished. Prigozhin incites the residents of St. Petersburg against Governor Alexander Beglov, who was appointed by Putin himself. The population is being involved in 'showdowns' between thieves or oligarchs," the political analyst says.
He says that when conflicts escalate and a real confrontation between rival clans begins, they will again actively draw people to their side.
"The conventional fanatics-militarists will support Prigozhin, the Chechens - Kadyrov, and Muscovites and St. Petersburgers - the liberal grouping in power, which is now represented by Moscow mayor Sobyanin," he stressed.
Igor Eidman suggests that if things continue to develop like this and the war does not end soon, it will spread to Russia and affect Russians, who, meanwhile, hope to sit in front of their TVs, looking at events in Ukraine like some kind of an action movie.
