A memorial plaque on the graves of the Krajowa Army fighters in Varziany has disappeared.

Another act of vandalism was recorded in Belarus at the cemetery of the Armia Krajowa soldiers. A commemorative plaque disappeared from a stone at a small cemetery near the village of Varziany, Astravets district, reports the Union of Poles in Belarus.

Eighteen fighters of the 5th Vilna Brigade of the Armia Krajowa, who died in the battle with German troops near this village on January 31, 1944, are buried there.

Since last year, Lukashenko's regime in Belarus has been systematically destroying or desecrating burial places of Polish soldiers from World War II or the Polish-Soviet war of 1919-1920. Such cases are known in the villages of Bahdany, Babrovichy, Dyndylishki, Mikulishki, Kachychy, Plebanishki, Surkonty, and in the town of Iuye.
