Washington Post: China Agrees To Supply Arms Secretly To Russia

China may have decided to supply lethal weapons to Russia that it can use in a war against Ukraine. Beijing decided to keep it a secret and the supply of military equipment was to be disguised as the sale of civilian goods.

The Washington Post published a story saying that such information was contained in one of the secret Pentagon documents, which appeared on the Web. The data comes from the interception by US intelligence agencies of information from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said in the intercepted communication that China's Central Council "approved the phased provision of weapons to Russia" and chose to keep the information secret. The military equipment was to be disguised as civilian goods.

According to journalists, the document with this information was classified as "top secret" and was titled "Beijing Reports That It Approves the Supply of Lethal Aid to Russia".

However, a senior Biden administration official told WP that the PRC had not yet transferred weapons to Moscow.

"But we remain concerned and continue to monitor the situation closely," the official stressed.

The Pentagon confirmed to reporters that Moscow had not yet received weapons from Beijing.
