Ukrainian General Names Number Of Russian Troops In Belarus

Ukraine is reinforcing the Northern grouping of troops.
Russian occupation troops have amassed about 17,000 servicemen in the southern part of Belarus and in the territories of Russia's Bryansk and Kursk regions.
Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev, commander of the United Forces of the AFU, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"The enemy engages two groupings to cover the state border in the northern direction, which are deployed in the southern part of Belarus and in the territories of the Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russia, with a total of about 17,000 servicemen," he said.
Naev also said that the Russian contingent of the regional grouping of troops with a total number of about 2,800 servicemen is still present at the training grounds in Belarus, and Russian air and space forces planes and helicopters are still deployed at the Belarusian military aerodromes.
He adds that the Ukrainian command continues to reinforce the northern grouping of troops, prepares reserves, monitors the situation, rearms troops with more modern foreign models, improves fortifications and increases the density of mines on the territory of the border strips.
