Russian Energy Giant's Chief Executive Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances

A high-ranking official was found dead in a pre-trial detention facility.

The head of Russian energy giant Igor Shkurko has been found dead in a cell in a pre-trial detention centre.

This is the 40th mysterious death of a Russian oligarch and high-ranking official.

We are talking about 49-year-old Igor Shkurko, who was the deputy general director of Yakutskenergo.

He was in pre-trial detention in a bribery case. However, the day before his death, Shkurko appealed to a court, The Sun reported.

A wave of mysterious deaths among Russian officials and oligarchs began after the Russian Armed Forces invaded Ukraine.

Experts and analysts are convinced that all 40 deaths are directly linked to the Kremlin. The Russian Investigative Committee did not say how or why Shkurko died, only that the death was not violent.

Shkurko, 49, was married with two sons. He was accused of taking a bribe. He was detained on March 30 and passed away on April 4. This has been confirmed by the FSIN.

Shkurko was in charge of technical management at Yakutskenergo. Electricity was supplied to Yakutia, the coldest region in the world. This is the 40th death among Russian officials and oligarchs in 13 months.

At the same time, most of the deaths have been mysterious. All of the dead have allegedly committed suicide. Just look at the death of Sergei Grishin, who sold his mansion in California to Megan and Harry. He suffered septicaemia immediately after criticising Putin.

In early March, Andrei Botikov, who created the Sputnik V vaccine, was strangled with a belt in his flat.

US military intelligence officers John Sweet and Mark Toth believe Putin has created a modern version of Murder Inc. In the 1930s, the US underworld created such a group, which is responsible for more than 100 murders.

"Anyone seen as a potential threat seems to be attracted to an open window," Sweet said, alluding to "suicides" in the Russian Federation, with officials throwing themselves out of windows.
