'For Them, Yes': Biden Replies To Russians' Claims That F-16 Deliveries To Ukraine Carry 'Colossal' Risks

Deliveries of US F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will allow the defence forces to strike where the Ukrainian military cannot reach now. US President Joe Biden said this on May 21 at a press conference on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Japan, which was broadcast on YouTube by Voice of America.

"I have a firm guarantee from [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky that they will not use them [F-16s] to enter Russian geographical territory. However, wherever there are Russian troops on Ukrainian territory, they can use them," Biden said.

Commenting on the Russian aggressor country's deputy foreign minister, Aleksandr Grushko, saying that F-16 deliveries to Ukraine carry "colossal risks," the US president said, "For them, yes."

Biden said yesterday that the USA would train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets.
