FSB Says Saboteurs From Belarus Came To Blow Up Two Nuclear Power Plants In Russia

They have allegedly "managed to blow up" one of the transmission towers.

On May 25, Russia's FSB reported about preventing sabotage at the transmission towers of the two Russian nuclear power plants before May 9, TASS informs.

According to the Russian side, "on the eve of the 78th anniversary of the Victory Day, a sabotage and terrorist group attempted to blow up more than 30 transmission line towers of the Leningrad and Kalinin nuclear power plants."

"The terrorists managed to blow up one tower and plant improvised explosive devices under seven towers of the Kalinin nuclear power plant in Tver region," the FSB Public Relations Centre quoted TASS as saying.

Two members of the group and two of their Russian accomplices have been detained. The FSB claims they "were recruited in September 2022 by an employee of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service and received special training in camps in Kyiv and Mykolayiv regions of Ukraine. They then illegally crossed the Russian-Belarusian border in Pskov Region, where they arrived from Ukraine via Poland and Belarus.
