Has Prigozhin decided to mock Putin?

The head of the Wagner PMC, Evgeny Prigozhin, has made a vague but profuse comment about those responsible for Russia's war with Ukraine, which could lead to even more problems with the Kremlin.

In a lengthy audio conversation about the alleged shortage of ammunition for his mercenaries in eastern Ukraine, Prigozhin referred to a figure he described as a "happy grandpa" who was thinking all was well with the military campaign.

Prigozhin made the comment in reference to the fact that, he said, the Russian Defence Ministry continued to refuse to provide the mercenaries with the weapons they needed to capture Bakhmut.

"And the happy grandpa thinks he's doing well. If he turns out to be right, God bless everyone. But what is the country, our children and grandchildren, who are the future of Russia, supposed to do, and how to win the war if suddenly by chance, I just assume, it turns out that this grandpa is a complete asshole?" said Prigozhin.

The identity of the Grandpa referred to by the ringleader of the Wagner PMC is not clear. Perhaps the person in question is Putin.

Prigozhin has previously mocked Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, but has avoided any personal criticism of Vladimir Putin.
