Belarus Significantly Cuts Importation Limits For Duty-Free Goods

When and how much?

Belarus will cut in half the importation limits for duty-free goods when crossing land borders (in monetary terms) from October 1, according to the State Customs Committee.

Limits will be reduced to 500 euros and 25 kilograms from the current 1,000 euros and 31 kilograms limits.

Exceeding the limits leads to duties: 30% of the price of goods. Also, the customs service has a trick in case of weight excess and cheap goods: the minimum duty is four euros per kilogram of excess.
