Paris is preparing new weapons deliveries.
French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna gave in an interview to RFI and said that her country would increase its military support for Ukraine and assured that Paris was already preparing new assistance supplies.
Asked if France is ready to continue to support Ukraine in the future, in particular by providing weapons or training pilots, Colonna said that “this support will continue and intensify."
“New deliveries of military assistance are being prepared in order to constantly take into account the urgent needs expressed by Ukraine,” the minister stressed.
According to her, it is about how, in the very short term, to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression, focusing on air defence and artillery.
In addition, Colonna added, France is working with a number of allies on security guarantees for Ukraine, which are likely to be announced at the NATO summit in Vilnius. The French Minister stressed that security guarantees would be provided to Ukraine not instead of, but along with Ukraine’s NATO integration process.
