Russia has started delivering short-range nuclear weapons to Belarus. Poland confirmed these actions of the aggressor country.

President of Poland Andrzej Duda made a statement on Tuesday, August 22. Such a move, he said, will change the security architecture of the region and the entire NATO military alliance, according to AP.

There is information that officials in Moscow and Minsk said that the Belarusian Su-25 attack aircraft could carry the warheads and be equipped with Iskander short-range missiles. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg denounced Moscow's rhetoric as "dangerous and reckless" but said in July that the Alliance saw no change in Russia's nuclear position.

“I talked about the implementation of Vladimir Putin's statement that Russia's tactical nuclear weapons will be transferred to the territory of Belarus. Indeed, this process is taking place, we see it,” Andrzej Duda said.

“Obviously, this is changing the security architecture in our part of Europe,” he said but did not give the details.

“This is changing the security architecture of the close-to-us areas, but at the same time also of NATO's eastern flank. So in fact, this changes the situation for the entire Alliance,” the Polish President added.

Earlier, Lukashenka said that the deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus is needed to "deter aggression from Poland, a NATO member state, although Warsaw did not threaten openly."
