US Citizens Urged To Leave Belarus For Poland Through Terespol

The Polish border guards have revealed the details.

US citizens leaving Belarus can enter Poland through the Brest-Terespol border crossing.

This is stated in the message of the Border Guard of Poland.

"In response to the call of the U.S. Embassy to American citizens to leave the territory of Belarus, the Polish Border Guard informs that they can enter Poland through the border crossing in Terespol," reads the message of the Polish border guards.

The U.S. Embassy appealed to American citizens to leave Belarus if possible against the background of Lithuania's announcement to close two checkpoints on the border. At the same time, the message of the embassy indicated that American citizens could not enter Poland from Belarus by land.

Press officer of the U.S. Embassy Timothy O'Connor explained that there's nothing new in the embassy statement.

The recommendation not to visit or to leave Belarus has been in force since 2022. This appeal is repeated every time when there are new reasons for it, for example, now, when the number of checkpoints on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border has been reduced from six to four.
