Podolyak: Lukashenka Is Very Important Jester At Putin's Court

The situation with Prigozhin will affect Lukashenka extremely negatively.

How will the death of the leader of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin affect Lukashenka after his personal guarantees? Zerkalo asked Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, about this:

“You are asking a rather rhetorical question. Lukashenka is always doing nonsense, he is behaving comedic and clownishly. I have repeatedly said that Lukashenka is not a subject that influences anything or makes some decisions. He is a very important jester at the court of Tsar Putin. No more, no less. Of course, Lukashenka did not take any significant part in the negotiation process with Prigozhin. He is not a person who can guarantee anything. Although in fact, as it turned out, no one can guarantee anything in Russia. This, by the way, is one of the extremely important consequences of Prigozhin's removal: Putin has shown that there are no red lines for him. Also, from now on there are no guarantees for anyone. All are on the death list of the Russian Federation.

The situation with Prigozhin will once again affect Lukashenka extremely negatively because it finally puts an end to the existence of such a figure. Again, a matter of time, how long this figure and in what form will be in the performance of clownish duties.”
