The demands of the political prisoner were fulfilled.

Political prisoner Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, an activist of the European Belarus Civil Campaign, has ended her hunger strike, the Viasna Human Rights Center Reports.

Palina's demands for more humane detention conditions were accepted. She was transferred from the Rechytsa detention center to the detention Center #3 in Homel. She will stay there until the trial.

Palina's husband Andrei Sharenda confirmed this information to Charter97.org.

“Palina was transferred to the detention center #3. She ended her hunger strike. But whether the transfer was caused by a hunger strike, or whether the lawyer's complaints about the conditions of detention worked, is not clear. But in fact, Palina's demand to change the place of detention was fulfilled,” he said.

The political prisoner went on a hunger strike on August 23, protesting against the conditions in the Rechytsa detention center. She was kept in solitary confinement there in unsanitary conditions. They took away all the things and food that she brought with her, did not provide her with bedding, did not take her out for walks and did not accept parcels for her.

Recall that Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, mother of two children, has been in jail since January 3, 2021. Palina was sentenced to two years in prison under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus: Art. 368 - Insulting Lukashenka, Art. 369 - Insulting a representative of the authorities, Art. 364 - Violence or threat of violence against an employee of the internal affairs bodies.
