The photos clearly show the damage to the Il-76 planes.
The first satellite images of the results of the drone attack on the airport in Pskov on the night of August 30 have appeared. They show damage to two Il-76 aircraft.
The satellite images from Planet Labs were published by Schemes. They were analysed by aviation expert Anatoly Khrapchinsky, who confirmed the damage to the planes.
"We see in the satellite image that the surface near the wings is damaged, most likely the drones tried to hit the fuel tanks, which are in that part of the aircraft. But still it means taking the aircraft out for overhaul, which will take at least 2-3 months," he explained.
Two red vehicles can be seen next to one of the planes. They look like fire-fighting cars that may have arrived at the aerodrome to extinguish the fire.
A spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andrei Yusov, confirmed the destruction of four Russian Il-76s in Pskov. Several other aircraft were damaged.
"Four units were destroyed - this means that the damage does not allow to restore this aircraft and return it to the performance of tasks. They are used to transport the occupiers' personnel and their equipment. There is also information about damage to several more units," Yusov noted.
The images show only two damaged planes, as other damaged Il-76s could be on another part of the airport. It cannot be seen due to dense cloud cover.
