The Lukashists recorded a “repentant” video with the foreigner.

A citizen of Turkmenistan was detained in Hrodna. His “repentant” video was published on September 2 by a Telegram channel close to GUBOPiK.

Human rights project “Courts, detentions. Hrodna and the Region” found out that the man’s name was Matdurdyev Meilis. In a “repentant” video, he said that he has been living in Belarus for 10 years on a residence permit, graduated from Hrodna University, and works as a bartender in one of the institutions of the city.

“I was detained for distributing “extremist” materials on VKontakte and for making comments on Instagram,” the man was forced to say on camera.

“What kind of comments?” the security official clarified in a changed voice.

“For insulting citizens of the Russian Federation”.
