Leader of the Crimean Tatar people and People's Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev appealed to Russian citizens who illegally moved to Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russian troops. He urged them to leave the Ukrainian peninsula, while the Kerch bridge was still functioning.

The appeal was published on Facebook on Monday, January 1. He stressed that there is every reason to believe that this year will be the last year of the occupation of Crimea by Russia.

Ukraine, as Dzhemilev noted, has made many efforts for the peaceful return of Crimea, relying on the common sense of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. Kyiv hoped that Putin would leave Crimea voluntarily for his own country's interests. Still, he decided to destroy hundreds of thousands of his citizens, and tens of thousands of weapons, bomb the cities and villages of Ukraine, making Russia one of the most despised states in the world.

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people assured that Ukraine would make efforts so that civilians would not suffer during the hostilities.

"But Ukraine cannot be responsible for the inhumane strategy of the Russian army, for the strategy to hide behind civilians. Therefore, it is proposed to all civilians to stay away from military facilities, and citizens of the Russian Federation who illegally entered the Crimea, immediately, without postponing, leave the peninsula while the Kerch bridge is functioning," he said.

Dzhemilev stressed that international law and justice will definitely prevail sooner or later.

"See you soon in a free Crimea," he said.
