Drones Attack On Russian City Orel

On the morning of January 24, UAVs attacked the Orel region of the Russian Federation.

The Russian MoD reported on Telegram.

The Russian Defence Ministry blamed Ukraine for the attack.

"This morning, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using aircraft-type UAVs on facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted," the report said.

The Russian Federation stated that four drones over the territory of the Orel region were allegedly intercepted by on-duty air defense systems.

The governor of the Orell region, Andrei Klychkov, said that in the morning drones were neutralized in the region. No one was hurt.

"Friends, the sounds that you heard in the sky over the Orel are the result of the work of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. Keep calm. In the morning, the next unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized," Andrei Klychkov said.

According to him, services were brought to the places of incidents in the Zheleznodorozhny and Northern districts to ensure the safety of the population.

The mayor of the city of Orel, Yuri Parakhin, said that the UAVs were neutralized over the Orel. There were no casualties, the operational services of the regional and city power units are working on the scene.

Parakhin said that as a result of the destruction of the drone, the windows in several high-rise buildings in the Severnyi and Zheleznodorozhny districts were broken, the full amount of damage is still under consideration.
