A criminal case against a former employee of the Homel Starting Engine Plant OJSC Ivan Pamesiachny is being considered in the Savetski District Court of Homel. The man is accused of destroying, blocking or modifying computer information, causing grave consequences.

From a message from the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Homel Regional Executive Committee, it is known that on November 16, 2022, the production of parts was stopped at one of the Homel plants due to the fault of a machine tool and manipulator adjuster. The worker deleted system files and removed memory modules containing software, which caused disruption of the operation of 8 numerically controlled metalworking machines. The total amount of damage caused, according to the investigation, was more than 55 thousand rubles, which corresponded to a particularly large amount. The motives that led the employee to block the production process of the enterprise were not made public.

In November 2022, in hot pursuit, Flagstaff was able to determine that the incident occurred at the Homel Starting Engine Plant OJSC, and provided a photograph of the probable detainee. Now this information has been confirmed in the court schedule.

The charges against Ivan Pamesiachny are based on Part 3 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which assumes that the actions of the accused resulted in “a crash, an accident, a catastrophe, accidents with people, negative changes in the environment or other serious consequences.” The maximum penalty under this article is 10 years in prison.

A year before the incident, Ivan Pamesiachny was one of the heroes of the publication of the Savetski District newspaper. It was reported that he studied at the Homel Automotive College, then graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Mazyr Pedagogical University, and changed several jobs.

In addition to working as an adjuster at a factory, Ivan Pamesiachny made his living as a wedding photographer. He also tried his hand at editing videos and writing songs.
