Lukashenka continues to "surrender" the country's sovereignty.
Last year, Belarus and Russia implemented the "Main Directions for the Implementation of the Provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of a Union State for 2021-2023" and 28 sectoral union programs. New integration plans for the next three years are now expected to be approved. Alexei Polishchuk, the director of the Second Department of the CIS countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, stated this to the Russian state news agency TASS.
"The governments of Russia and Belarus create the most comfortable conditions for the work of enterprises of the two countries and the progressive development of their economies as a whole," Polishchuk said. “Last year, the implementation of a key document designed to stimulate bilateral relations and integration was completed — the ‘Main Directions for the Implementation of the Provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2021-2023’ and 28 sectoral union programs. Programs providing for the creation of a common agricultural market and the elimination of barriers to mutual trade were among them. New integration plans for 2024-2026 are expected to be approved soon. Additional unifying steps in the agricultural and food sectors are also envisaged.”
“With regard to the supply of eating eggs and poultry meat, we appreciate such specific manifestations of achievements in the field of trade and economic cooperation. The indicators in this area are solid," the diplomat said. “By the end of 2022, Belarus accounted for 71% of total imports of poultry meat to Russia. For 11 months of 2023, deliveries increased by 5.3%. The figures for food eggs are even more convincing — 94.1% of the volume of imports into our country. The Russian Foreign Ministry, for its part, makes every effort to create conditions for further deepening integration within the framework of the union state".
