How much do they want for the unusual lot?

The State Property Committee of the Homel Regional Executive Committee has put up for electronic auction a building in the village of Babrovichy, Kalinkavichy district. The lot has an unusual name - "Missile Position Site/Service Premises".

We are talking about the building on the territory of the old Soviet military airfield, the remains of which they started to sell off in 2023. As Flagshtok has already reported, they want to build a training ground for testing hardware on the site of the USSR strategic aviation base. Last time a part of the former airfield was put up for auction, including former radar facilities, meteorological services, as well as reinforced concrete pavement, reports Flagshtok.

Now the Kalinkavichy Communal Worker state enterprise, which has the buildings on its balance, is trying to sell the "missile position site" under the condition of using the building with an area of almost 530 square metres as a facility of retail trade, consumer services, administrative or commercial purposes or using the building as a hostel.

The initial price of the lot is 51 thousand 673 rubles, which is about $16 thousand at the current exchange rate. The land plot is leased for 50 years.

We remind you that during the Soviet times it was one of the largest military airfields, where first the 953rd "Vitsebsk" bomber regiment was stationed, and then the 306th bomber regiment. Su-24 frontline bombers, carriers of fourth-generation atomic weapons were based in Babrovichy. There was a special zone next to the airfield, where nuclear warheads were placed.

In 1993, the air regiment was redeployed to Russia, and the 123rd Air Commandant's Office took its place, which was eventually transformed into an airfield security and maintenance battalion. The guard battalion was located in Babrovichy until 2014. After that, the property was transferred to the balance of the Kalinkavichy Housing and Communal Services.
