Bi-2 Musicians Say Decision On Their Deportation To Israel Has Been Canceled

  • 30.01.2024, 13:03

The decision was reversed after a visit by “high-ranking Russian officials.”

The Bi-2 musicians said that the decision to deport them to Israel from Thailand was canceled.

Information about this was published in the group’s Telegram channel:

“According to our information, yesterday a decision was made to deport the band members to Israel. In accordance with this decision, air tickets were purchased.

Today, after a visit by high-ranking diplomats from the Russian consulate, representatives of the band were informed that the decision on deportation to Israel had been cancelled. The band members refused to communicate with the Russian consul.”

The report notes that the Bi-2 musicians continue to be held in a common cell for 80 people in the Phuket migration center.

Earlier today, the Israeli publication Ynews reported that four musicians detained in Thailand at the end of January would be deported to Israel and not to Russia. One of the band members was supposed to be sent to Australia because he has a passport issued by that country. The musicians themselves state that the situation with their possible deportation to Russia has not yet been resolved.
